Pereyáslav) is an ancient city in the Kiev Oblast (province) of central Ukraine, located near the confluence of Alta and Trubizh rivers some 95 km (59.03 mi) south of the nation's capital Kiev. From 1943 until 2019 the city name was Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi ((Ukrainian: Перея́слав-Хмельни́цький) also referred to as Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy).
