Basra (Arabic: ٱلْبَصْرَة, romanized: al-Baṣrah, Kurdish: بەسڕە, Romanized: Basra) is a city in southern Iraq located on the Shatt al-Arab in the Arabian Peninsula. In April 2017, the Iraqi Parliament recognized Basra as Iraq's economic capital.
